Late last year I received a call from a friend of this family. She wanted to buy them a gift voucher for a family photo shoot because their mother – Vicky – had been fighting cancer for the last 7 years. What a wonderfully special gift to buy for a family. Fast Forward to this last weekend and we finally got around to doing the shoot after Vicky’s latest bout of radiation therapy.
To say this family is beautiful is an understatement. When I say beautiful, I don’t mean physical beauty (though they are certainly a gorgeous bunch!), I mean beauty on the inside. You walk into their bohemian inspired house and just feel warmth, love for one another, closeness. You feel family. You feel welcomed. By the end of the session we were hugging, kissing each other goodbye and it felt like we’d been friends for years. I really wish Vicky all the best and hope that she can win this battle once and for all. Sending you all my love, hugs, kisses and healthy vibes. You are wonderful.
On a side note, this was the first time for me photographing teenagers and I loved it! How cool is it to ask a kid to pose and they do – ha! Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE my toddlers, but this was just a different, more laidback type of session that I could get used to – so if you have teens you want photographed, please call me 😉
